My journey implementing SAP S4 Hana as a business project manager.
If you are reading this article I’ll suppose you’re about to start an ERP implementation project, and that ERP is going to be SAP S4 Hana, so I’m not going to cover the pros and cons of SAP S4 Hana.
Rather I will share with you some of my experiences as responsible of the project management office of a multi company implementation project.
I hope you find this useful…
Over the last past months I’ve been learning, working, experiencing and managing this project, investing long hours with help of countless people within the organization and the consulting firm we choose to help us.
Summarizing all this effort I came with these 10 key points everyone, in my opinion, should consider when starting their implementation journey:
- Quality & the project’s sacred trilogy… scope, time and budget.
- SAP is not your friend, they are your provider.
- Don’t skimp in your consulting partner…
- A good and experienced PM, is always a good ally…
- Sponsorship is key…
- Accountability is ownership.
- Data, data, data and data… prepare yourself.
