Power & Predictions — The Disruptive Economics of AI
The book addresses a journey from the importance of a discovery, such as electricity, and the path it takes to systematize it towards one or several solution proposals.
In this same sense, it describes how artificial intelligence by itself is not a change trigger, but a decision-making tool, and how it does not generate value by itself, but through systematization (developing a system) and its scalability that can contribute to improve the taking of decisions.
It points that to build a system to improve decision-making, it involves prediction and judgment. Where, artificial intelligence models helps in predictive activities through algorithms that follow probabilistic trees and allows the user to manage their judgment to make better decisions.
One example the book mentions is where Michael Jordan and his doctor discuss how best to assess whether or not he should continue playing after an injury.
In this same sense, an artificial intelligence system can integrate several decisions and be more complex, seeking to provide the greatest amount of value and not only focus on one decision.
